Graphics & Photography Manager (Maternity Cover)

Job Purpose:

To manage and develop the creative function within a thriving ecommerce company, ensuring fresh, original images and designs are produced in line with the company’s values and corporate brand. To manage and coordinate the creative team; working in partnership with other departments to ensure all visuals across web, retail and all channels are produced to a high quality and on time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the graphics team effectively to ensure all deadlines and KPIs are met or exceeded
  • Ensure that each project is effectively managed from initial brief to delivery
  • Ensure that all creative output is of a consistently high professional standard and quality
  • To interpret creative briefs and be responsible for providing concept ideas and mood boards
  • Ensure all web graphics, including website banners and static pages, social network imagery and marketing emails are appropriate to the brand and have a consistent look and feel
  • Ensure that the brand look and feel of the website is maintained, through coding in HTML/CSS where necessary
  • Manage the upload process of promotional and brand graphics via the website CMS
  • Promptly and accurately update the website in line with the marketing calendar
  • Develop strong internal and third party relationships
  • Manage the graphics workload to ensure work is fairly distributed between members team and planned for each quarter in advance
  • Attend regular planning and review meetings as and when required, including quarterly management meetings
  • Identify staffing and training needs and manage the recruitment process in line with HR policies and in consultation with the HR team
  • Carry out in-house training, annual appraisals and quarterly reviews with your team and ensure that all team members have SMART objectives
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work policy, taking responsibility for your own health and safety at work and that of others who may be affected by your actions
  • Any other duties that are reasonably asked of you by management

Skills and Person Specification:
  • Excellent level of knowledge of digital graphic design
  • 3+ years in a graphic design role with at least one year in a supervising/management role
  • Understanding of print media and the proofing process
  • Capable of managing photographic workflows
  • Experience of managing people
  • Building and managing supplier relationships
  • Experience of managing and delivering projects within budget and on time
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent proofreading with accuracy and attention to detail
  • A high level knowledge of the following software packages/skills; Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Cloud products, Social media platforms
